Winnebago View Class C Motorhome

It is a Class C motorhome that has many options that can amaze a user. This camper van has luxurious details, and it has been fitted with a sleek and exquisite interior to catch the interest of a user. This camper van stands on Sprinter chassis from Mercedes Benz that provide class and comfort to this model with a compact body and various functionalities. It is the demand of modern-day living style, and this van has got them all.

There are lots of reviews for Winnebago View, but none of them covers all the features of this camper van and the problems that users have faced over the years. So this discussion is based on covering all the good sides of Winnebago View and its problems that have been found by the users with their complaints. So let’s start with the features first.

Winnebago View Features

Winnebago View packs a lot of features, but they do have some problems too. All of them are explained here.

1. Sleeping Area and Capacity

The Winnebago View has a beautiful interior layout with a bedroom and a bathroom on the opposite side at its back. There is a great bathroom shower and private area on the side, and a sink is placed outside near the bathroom. The living area has a 50/80 wide bed that provides enough capacity for a couple to sleep comfortably and rest while they want to.

Problem

The bed is not suitable for the space area. It can only fit 2 adults or a couple who have to sleep close to each other. The area is rounded in corners, and there is no room left for the foot to access the bathroom and reach the sink. The backside person has to hop over the other person in order to reach the bathroom.

2. Storage Space

This beautiful camper van can have a good capacity for storage and is never short on the options with the variety of cabinets that allow the storage of various food items as well as your equipment and any item that you want to keep in a separate space. The cabinets have a beautiful gloss-shaped design with beautiful theme colors and cabinetry for storing your clothes and shoes along with other accessories.

You don’t get enough big storage single cabinet to fit any big equipment or luggage as it has small cabinets placed everywhere.

3. Kitchen Area

A kitchen area is a beautiful place with the same design as the interior, having a counter and cabinet combination for storing food items and products with the ideal components. The kitchen area has a double basin sink that is made from stainless steel and a faucet to provide some additional space for the kitchen area.

There is a two-burner stove with glass covers and a fridge to keep things cool, which adds more beauty to the addition of features with this camper. Below the cabinets, there are LED lights in the kitchen to providing good light and illumination that adds addition to ease of cooking and prepping. The refrigerator is powered by an inverter that runs on two group 24v batteries.

Problem

The sink that is attached to the kitchen is right next to the bathroom as well. It can get smelly sometimes, and the headroom space is not quite enough to feel easy.

4. Living Area

The living area is spacious and made well for fitting everyone easily without a tight space inside with a dinette area of plus-sized to accommodate a family of 5 to 6 people. The dinette is pretty neat and at the exact location where it should be, and the table is helpful for reading or writing or simply enjoying the food to eat.

There is a TV in the living area with articulating arm that can be rotated in a specified direction, and it’s simple for anyone to sit in the dinette area or the lounge to enjoy watching their favorite shows. The dinette is a single slideout as a U-shaped where you can snooze and relax to get some relaxation for the moment.

The couch in the living area provides good space by flipping up the footrests and convert them into dual recliners. There is a big wardrobe closet present for the users inside near the dinette where users hang or put their clothes and stow away their accessories when not needed.

Problem

There is a downside to this living room as the dinette has only two cushions for sleeping. Space is not enough to relax easily.

5. Bathroom

The bathroom is positioned right next to the beds in opposite directions, which makes it easy and accessible for a person to go to the bathroom directly. It has a medicine cabinet and a mirror placed in it with a sink and LED lights inside. The bathroom has a toilet seat and a shower, along with a retractable door.

Problem

There is less elbow room in the bathroom, and it’s not easy to move independently in the bathroom because everything is placed closed right to the next thing. It’s small, so it is also a problem for people having a height of more than 6 ft.

6. Drive Cockpit

At the front of View, there are the driver seats and a dashboard for all the controls and functions of the van. There is a traditional cab over the bed for the driver and complete legroom with supportive padding to rest properly. There is blue LED lighting and an associated removable ladder.

The dashboard has a GPS LCD touch-screen navigation system that also provides good stereo and videos as well as and rearview camera connection. For side windows, it is operated with a latching system.

Problem

The driver and front passenger seat of this camper van have been found to be not exactly as tough and tight as the mounting bolts may get loose sometimes, and it can cause the seats to come off. This can be a critical problem.

Winnebago View – Complaints and Problems

There have been several complaints by the customers of Winnebago for the View, and a lot of problems have been found with these camper vans. Commonly found problems and complaints are shared below.

1. Factory Recalls

For the old models like View 2016 and View 2019, there were factory recalls because of a missing fuse in the circuit of their auxiliary solar charging port. In 2017, a lot of Views were recalled as it was found that the grommet on the propane line of these camper vans was not sealed properly that let the fumes seep into the living area.

2. Electrical Faults

For the models of Winnebago View 2014 – 2017, it was found that there was a problem with their volume control option. It mostly interfered with the electrical systems that were sitting on the chassis, which was very risky.

Customer Complaints

There have been many complaints about Winnebago View as, for the most part, the complaint about its high price of $150,000 but limiting lots of features. Other complaints registered were found for installing lower-quality mini blinds as the View van comes with very cheap quality blinds for the kitchen area and its bathroom.

Some owners have left complaints about the roof vents of this camper van in the bathroom as the fan speed was not satisfying enough for them.

The refrigerator in this Winnebago View has been complained about many times as it doesn’t work on propane, and it runs only on DC. Due to this, the battery is drained continuously overnight as most of the campers ran out of power due to this fridge.

The infotainment system in Winnebago View has also been found to be unreliable as it fails to work most of the time properly. This can also mess up the backup camera as it is directly connected to it, and users have difficulty reversing the van in difficult situations.
